However, if you are new to retinol, it is recommended to start off with using the serum 2-3 times a week to help build tolerance and gradually build up to every other night, and then to daily use. Chemical exfoliants such as retinol may increase sun sensitivity. Therefore, always end your morning skincare routine with a broad-spectrum SPF sunscreen such as the Anthelios Ultra Facial Sunscreen SPF50+.
To apply the Retinol B3 Anti-Ageing Serum, follow the ‘sandwich method’ in skincare which refers to layering hydrating serums or creams to moisturise your skin before and after application of retinol.
Apply the retinol serum as a part of your night routine. Start with cleansing your face, followed by toning (optional). Use the Cicaplast B5 Serum first, to prep your skin and help support your skin’s moisture barrier. Once the Cicaplast B5 Serum is fully absorbed into your skin, apply 3-4 drops of the Retinol B3 Serum to dry skin on face, neck and decolletage area. Gently pat the serum into the skin. Follow with a more nourishing moisturiser such as the Cicaplast Baume B5+ Balm to help add and seal in moisture within the skin.
