Empowering Digital Talent: 1,147 Youth Certified in Excel Skills (2025)

Imagine a world where digital skills are the key to unlocking endless opportunities. That's the vision Vodacom Congo is bringing to life with its Empowering Digital Talent program. A bold initiative, it's transforming the lives of young Congolese and reshaping the future of work in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In partnership with Kinshasa Digital Academy and supported by GIZ and the Ministry of Vocational Training, Vodacom Congo has embarked on a mission to empower the youth with digital skills. And the results are nothing short of inspiring! To date, an impressive 1,147 young people have been certified in Microsoft Excel through this program, surpassing the initial goal of 1,000 certifications in Lubumbashi.

But here's where it gets even more exciting: the program doesn't just stop at Excel. It provides intensive training and internationally recognized TOSA certification, ensuring participants are equipped with a range of skills that make them highly employable and future-proof in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

And this is the part most people miss: it's not just about the technical skills. The program also instills a sense of confidence and resilience, preparing these young individuals to navigate the challenges of the modern workforce. With these skills, they become agents of change, driving innovation and progress in their communities.

The latest cohort, who received their certificates on October 31, 2025, is a testament to the program's success. But Vodacom Congo isn't resting on its laurels. With an ambitious goal to train 20,000 young people nationwide by 2027, the program aims to strengthen human capital and foster a culture of digital competence across the country.

So, what do you think? Is this a program worth celebrating? Or are there aspects you feel could be improved? Share your thoughts in the comments below. We'd love to hear your perspective and engage in a constructive discussion about the future of digital skills training and its impact on society.
